El Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior, Inversión y Tecnología (Comce) expresó su apoyo al gobierno de Claudia Sheinbaum en relación con la integración regional de América del Norte, con el fin de enfrentar los desafíos globales.
El organismo privado valoró positivamente la propuesta del gobierno federal, que busca fomentar la estabilidad regional, la prosperidad compartida y la mejora de las cadenas de suministro en la región.
Juan Pablo Cervantes, presidente de la Sección Internacional para América del Norte del Comce, destacó que América del Norte es un ejemplo de integración económica, con un intercambio que supera los 3.1 millones de dólares por minuto entre los tres países.
En el contexto de la reconfiguración global de las cadenas de suministro y las tensiones geopolíticas, Cervantes resaltó que la regionalización económica es una oportunidad única para fortalecer esta integración.
El Comce también subrayó que, desde la transición del TLCAN al T-MEC, América del Norte, que representa el 30% del Producto Interno Bruto mundial, ha avanzado significativamente en sectores clave como el automotriz, consolidándose como un pilar de la colaboración trilateral.
De cara a la revisión del T-MEC en 2026, se han identificado como áreas prioritarias las reglas de origen, las disposiciones laborales y las oportunidades en sectores emergentes como los semiconductores, la electromovilidad y los dispositivos médicos, con el fin de mantener la competitividad de la región frente a Europa y Asia.
Cervantes también destacó que las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes) son fundamentales en esta estrategia, ya que, aunque son las principales generadoras de empleo en la región, enfrentan obstáculos para integrarse completamente a las cadenas globales de valor.
El Comce también reconoció la creación del Consejo Asesor de Desarrollo Económico Regional y Relocalización (CADERR), bajo el liderazgo de Altagracia Gómez Sierra, miembro del Consejo Directivo Nacional del organismo. Este consejo, según el Comce, es un paso importante hacia la construcción de una visión integral del desarrollo económico en México y contribuirá a la implementación efectiva de estrategias de relocalización y al fortalecimiento de los polos de desarrollo regionales, generando beneficios para la región y el país.
