En un comunicado emitido este martes, Mikati destacó la necesidad de actuar con rapidez para poner fin a la agresión en curso.
«Exhortamos a la comunidad internacional a actuar sin demora para poner fin a esta agresión y garantizar la implementación inmediata de un alto al fuego», afirmó el primer ministro, haciendo un llamado a la acción tras el anuncio de Israel de que aprobaría un alto al fuego por la noche.
La solicitud de Líbano se produce en un momento de creciente tensión en la región, donde la violencia entre ambos países ha intensificado los temores de una mayor escalada.
